الملخص

Allāh the Almighty is the creator of the living and non-living creature. Creation is the Will of Allāh and not that of the creatures. The creation of twins is also the will of Allāh and not that of the parents from whom they are born. Twins are of two types; firstly, the ones who are born with a gap of six months; secondly the conjointly born twins who share the same body; either both are males, both females or one male and another female. Today science has progressed so much that surgery for separation of such joint twins is possible. Their separation is important because the injunctions of Sharī’ah are applicable to a single complete human. In the light of Sharī’ah, if their basic needs are the same then they will be considered one but if their needs are separate then Sharī’ah will give them separate rights and responsibilities. For instance, basic needs like eating, drinking, urination, sex, etc. what are the rights of such twins, the injunctions of Sharī’ah regarding their rights to inheritance, marriage, Surgery, etc. are elaborated in this article.
