Abstract

Since the modern era and its necessities, we have been engaged day by day in many types of things usage and sales. We use electricity, internet connection and newspaper & water supplies but pay for each of them in certain time or after month. This type of agreement is called “paid in contract sale” which is famous in Islamic jurisprudence “sale of Istijrar”. It is just like a contract or agreement between seller and user [purchaser]. In this type of sale, user supplied with services and material and he pays after a bond time i.e. after month or end of the agreement continuously. Sale of Istijrar is legal in its appropriate way but there are other similar sales which are doubtful. In this article, we have analyzed major issues pertaining to ‘‘Sale of Istijrar and its similar sales’’ with discussing their status in the context of different Schools of thoughts regarding Islamic Jurisprudence.
